Our Story

1989
Catalyst is born as a result of three directors leaving a larger employer and joining forces as one to create a solution for the motorcycle trade.

1996
RES Tractors becomes Catalyst’s 1st agriculture dealership.

1997
The office relocates from the Nottingham suburb of West Bridgford, to Mountsorrel, Leicestershire.

1999
Catalyst signs up CMC Motorcycles, the biggest motorcycle dealer in the UK.

2007
Catalyst expands into the Caravan market by signing up White Arches Caravans and Robinsons Caravans.

2012
Catalyst wins the Best Dealer Management Software award from Tradeouts in association with autoprotect.

2013 & 2019
Catalyst wins the Business Support Service of the Year award from British Dealer News.

Platinum Online was released providing technicians with the flexibility they desire.

Catalyst is acquired by Perseus, an operating group of Constellation Software.

In 2020, Catalyst Computer Systems was acquired by Constellation Software Inc.’s Dealership Software division. We continue to provide the specialization and individual attention you expect from a family-oriented company, while benefitting from the stability, support and best practice resources of an organization with over 20,000 customers worldwide.
Catalyst’s acquisition further expands Perseus’s presence in the United Kingdom’s dealership software markets, having already established a strong presence via its 2012 acquisition of Ibcos – a leading business software supplier to agricultural, groundscare and construction dealers.
