Well it’s been three years now since we left the security of our well known dealer management software system and implemented the Platinum system from Catalyst. So I thought it was about time I dropped you guys a line.

It is a little scary to shut down and switch on a new system, keeping fingers crossed and hoping all will go well. Well, we need not have worried, it was a breeze. Tim was confident all would be fine and he was right, (please don’t tell him). All the important information was extracted from our old system, magically changed into Platinum language and dropped onto the new server. Then polished and tweaked to give us exactly what we needed. From then on it was a quick learning curve and we were away and running.

But, what satisfies and impresses me more than any of the above, is the way in which the support and hardware guys deal with our enquiries. Problems arise, normally through our lack of knowledge but it takes just one phone call, someone dials in and we are away again. In the past we have waited days for this to happen, but with Catalyst you guys have it sorted within the hour, it’s incredible. On occasions I have had an idea and a report has been written for me whilst I speak to you over the phone, it’s just awesome service!

I don’t think for one minute we have mastered the system, in a way I hope we haven’t because finding the new parameters and making it work is very satisfying, if not slightly sad, but that’s men and gadgets for you.
